Buy them for strength not softness Apr 19, 2010
By S. Gillette Turns out 778-thread count makes the sheet heavy and strong. Seems like these will last forever. I agree with some of the others that they are not particularly soft. And it's a bit of a wrestling match to get them on the bed since they are so tough.
Weirdly, Amazon had the flat and fitted sheets, but no pillow cases, in the color I wanted. Switched to Wamsutta's 400-Count in a coordinating color for the pillow cases and they were much softer.

Strong and Lovely and Worth the Money Aug 25, 2010
By O. Brown

***** These sheets are indeed strong and lovely. They are not soft at first, but become more so each time you wash them. I don't care and find them incredibly comfortable, but I am used to high-thread-count sheets. They are very sturdy and nicely finished; although they are expensive just for one sheet, to me they were worth it as they were quality all around. I bought them to go under a duvet of a contrasting color, so for me, this was an outstanding buy. You spend 1/3 of your life under a sheet, why should you have to suffer--why not enjoy the best--and these sheets by Wamsutta qualify!
Highly recommended. *****

Too rough - itchy feeling Jan 10, 2011
By Laura Oliveira These sheet are just too rough. The Sateen name on the label is misleading; they aren't smooth or comfortable to sleep on. I'm surprised; I have bought Sateen sheets from Wamsutta before, and they were wonderful.

Not As Expected .. Feb 04, 2011
By DeAnn Replacing approx. 6yr old Wamsutta 600-640 count sheets and these are nothing like them. They're okay but lack the softness.
Wow! Hard to find Luxury Sheets for Twin Beds! Jan 13, 2012
By J My 11 year old daughter likes nice bed sheets. Man...are Luxury sheets hard to find for a twin bed. I looked all over and finally resorted to a online search. Even then, there was little choice without paying an arm and a leg. Finally found these but had to order all pieces separately (pillow cases, top sheet and fitted sheet). They still were a bit high in price but not as high as most. The sheets were like many have said. They are very thick and good quality in that they should last a lifetime but they aren't as soft as you'd expect. Even with repeated washing they still aren't very soft. I have luxury sheets for my king size bed (for a much lesser price, I might add) and find they are much softer. Certainly can live with them but don't think I'd purchase a second set.
