Not a stainless steel pump Mar 19, 2010
By MB of Brooklyn This product plainly states it has a stainless steel pump. It is not! It is plastic. I contacted Amazon and they sent a replacement, but it too has a plastic pump. I am in the process of trying to get the item as described or returning this plastic one. The jar itself is nice, but the plastic pump makes it look cheap especially since they colored it to look somewhat like metal, but you can't hide the cheaper plastic. Plastic just doesn't fit the elegant style of the glass. I'm still trying to get this straightened out with Amazon.

Defective pump - TWICE Jul 14, 2009

I love the way this soap dispenser looks, but there seems to be a real issue with the pump. The first one I got was broken, so I returned it. Amazon sent me another and this one is broken too. I'm so disappointed in this product.

modern clean pump Nov 17, 2008
By luki's mommy I like that the transparent glass shows me when it needs to be refilled. Its shape is like a teardrop, smooth and matches our modern decor. i ordered 2 of them and while i had to exchange one of them because the pump didn't work, the replacement one came quickly and it was perfect!

Perfect for my kitchen Jul 10, 2009

I have a retro kitchen and this looks great in it. The pump is well constructed and I expect it will last for years. One thing the picture doesn't show is that there are seams in the glass - it's not hand-blown like I thought it would be (that's why I gave it 4 stars). But once it's full with soap the seams kind of disappear and it looks very fun and funky.
UPDATE 12/29/09: The pump still works perfectly and looks good. The neck of the pump itself--not the collar that screws onto the bottle, not the head that you push on--but the tubular neck inbetween--is only painted and is starting to scratch off. The other two pieces seem to be stainless and are not rusting or corroding. The neck isn't corroding, either, so it will continue to work just fine. It will eventually turn white (the color of the plastic underneath the silver paint). I'm not thrilled about this, but considering the horrible experiences I've had with other pumps, I'm okay with it. Still a very good value and I would buy it again.
UPDATE 6/4/09: Sad, sad day. The spring that makes the pump work has been losing its' tension for a couple of months now, and today I discovered that the spring was rusting inside the plastic casing. I suppose you could argue that a little rust never hurt anyone (at least not when they're washing their hands anyway) but I'm afraid the pump will be going the way of all the earth. Too bad my area doesn't have glass recycling.
