5safe, sturdy, compact bather  Mar 28, 2008
By N. Jones
This sling is just what we've been looking for and I wish we'd had it during the first 5 months. Unlike the big bath sponge we used earlier, this one is lightweight mesh fabric that lets the water and air pass through easily so it dries completely once you're done with no mildew smell to contend with.

The incline is great because you can pour water on the baby's tummy and there's less chance of it pooling around her chin or getting in her mouth. It also allows baby to see what you're doing. We fill a big bowl with water at her feet and dip water out of that to soap up the washcloth and rinse as needed. Since the sling is inclined, she can watch us do each step.

Also, since the Bath Sling folds into such a compact size, once it's dry between baths you can store it in a drawer, under the sink, or even take it in your suitcase for trips. It'd be nice if it were a smidge longer: we didn't get it until our baby was 5 months old and as we head for month seven, she's getting a little long for it, but we use it anyway and just let her legs extend a little more past the end.

If you're debating bath products, skip the sponge (hard to squeeze water out, bulky to store, especially when wet) and get this sling. You can us it from birth to at least 6 months or longer and by then, some babies can sit in the tub without help, so you can get a lot of use out of it.

5A good choice for no mold!  Jul 25, 2007
By J. Huff
I have 3 different versions of these, and this is the best one for 2 reasons. First, it fold and is space saving for under sink storage. Secondly, it is all mesh with no "stuffed" or padded parts, or sponge parts. This dries out quickly, where others have to drip dry for hours and days and the ones with padding start to smell moldy very quickly. Also nice to have one for travel if you are staying out of town overnight. It snaps into position and is very secure for little ones. Love it!

5all you need  May 30, 2008
By jaimem
skip the bulky plastic things. this is all you need for the bath. my baby loves it. it is small, soft and easy to clean.
update- now that my baby has hit 3 1/2 months she is outgrowing this seat and slides out as she kicks in the water so only buy this for your newborn. it is worth it for the first few months. my baby has never been afraid of the bath... maybe because she was comfortable and secure in this seat.

3Not enough incline  Nov 28, 2008
By Julia
This product seems to be steady and of a good quality (thus 3 stars), possibly very good for newborns, but it did not work for us. We were looking for a bathing prop when our daughter outgrew her infant tub but before she learned how to sit by herself. At 3 months old, this sling was already somewhat small for her, and, most importantly, its incline is so shallow, that it allows for only a few inches of water around without water getting into baby's ears. As a result, only baby's back is wet from beneath, and that little bit of water gets cold within minutes. In addition, baby's legs are up in the air (no fun "splashing"). It could have work if we continually pour water on her belly, but I didn't find that practical.

4Great sling but outgrown too fast!  Mar 28, 2008
By SWTTLK
Our sink wouldn't fit the baby tub and putting the baby tub in the big tub was just too awkward to manage on many levels. This sling is great when traveling. Also good for getting your little one to relax while you wash all those nooks and crannies you can't get to when he/she is sitting. I give it four stars only because I wish it were bigger! My son outgrew it at about a VERY squirmy 6 months / 27 inches / 17 pounds...
