It's a great mattress pad for either a plain or pillow top mattress. It actually does add an extra layer of comfort, almost as much as a topper. The fit is fine for up to our 16" mattress and the price is competitive.

The mattress pad came quite quickly. After reading that some said it would have a terrible odor, I was a littlc concerned. It smelled quite fresh in the plastic shipping bag. I did put it in the dryer with a dryer sheet to make it even more fresh. It is a queen size and fits our Restonic mattress which is 10" thick perfectly. It would fit a much thicker mattress also. Although the Restonic has quite a soft surface with a firm springs system, the pad just makes it even more comfortable for our backs. My wife and I are both pleased with it and think it was a bargain with the free shipping.
We definitely would recommend it for those who would like just a little more padding on their bed.

product matches the comfort of my upgraded pillowtop mattress. finally figured I spent enough time in bed to deserve some royal comfort. not sure if it is waterproof but I didn't want a crinkly underpad. this one is so soft and cushiony and well constructed.

Simply Amazing! May 07, 2010
This is the second Beautyrest mattress pad we've owned. The first one we bought at a big box store and it lasted 5 years before it started to fall apart. This one is WAAAY better than our previous one. Totally transformed our mattress and we're sleeping better than ever without spending $1000 on a new mattress.
It does require a large front load washer (It's almost as thick as a comforter). Any top load washer with a center agitator will probably rip this apart. Fortunately our newer 4.3 Cubic Foot front load washer is up to the challenge.
If you have the means to wash this, don't hesitate. You won't be sorry!

After looking for a mattress pad in several stores, I tried amazon.com. I'm very happy with this product. It is Made in the U.S.A, fits my mattress perfectly, and adds much comfort to the bed. I would highly recommend this product.
