waterproof Feb 19, 2007
By M. Holland Thankfully I haven't had any experiences that test this products waterproof claims. So before I wrote this review, I poured a glass of water on the mattress cover. I noticed the water spread and soaked in rapidly, but remained dry on the mattress side. I have not washed the product so can't confirm if the mattress cover will continue to be waterproof. At the time of this writting I am completely satisfied with the purchase.

Buyer Beware Nov 18, 2010
By Celia Alcoff We purchased this mattress protector for my toddler's bed as it was recommended highly by the mattress vendor. However, it leaked badly when he had an accident in his bed and we ended up with a very wet mattress. We called the company to report the defective mattress protector and they put us through an extensive process of collecting information from the protector, faxing in multiple documents, designating the leaky areas of the protector and finally shipping it back to them. We then received a call from Protect-a-bed and said that they concluded that YES- the protector we had was indeed leaky (gee thanks!) but it was user error and NOT a manufacturer defect so they are not responsible! The customer service agent told me that we must not have followed the directions to wash and dry it properly which cause the protective barrier to warp. I responded that we had not even washed it prior to putting it on his bed so it could not have been our fault. Anyhow- I definitely do not recommend purchasing from this company as they do not have a quality product nor do they honor their warranty.

Not Waterproof... Jun 14, 2010
By C. Bajwa Sorry...this product is not worth even the relatively resonable price. It is NOT waterproof. Our daughter has this on her bed and occasionally overflows her pull-up at night...the matress underneath gets wet. It is NOT waterproof!!!
Water resistant perhaps. Also, it is not a matress encasement, and therefore cannot truly protect from dust mites or other such "bugs". Spend your money elsewhere.

Excellent quality... you get what you pay for! Feb 18, 2010
By Cheryl G. Le Roy I have a Queen size 'Protect a Bed' mattress cover and love it. We had bought a new mattress in a mattress store and decided to try this cover to "protect our investment" and also "protect us" from all of those nasty little bed bugs & mites that eat dead skin!
Anyway, we were hesitant, at first, because of the price. And our experiences in the past, with a cheaper brand, were not very good. We had problems with being too 'hot' at night because of the rubber backing on the cover & there was also a rustling/crinkling noise when you rolled around on it. Well, thank goodness we gave this cover a try... boy what a pleasant surprise! No heat from it and nice and quiet, too! We may have paid more, but you sure get what you pay for with this! The quality has been great, even with washings, so far so good (and it's still waterproof). I would highly recommend this brand.
