Sad product + Sad service Aug 04, 2011
By Jay I'm fascinated by scams that are able to gain national level business followings; this is one such case. These products are peddled by some of the largest franchises in the country and it's sad. Simply put, this is a product that does not work. "Waterproofness" is a claim that they make. They also claim a 10 year warranty. If you've owned this product for over 6 moths, I dare you to pull it off of your bed and pour water into it. Once an accident occurred on one of our protectors, I tried this to the other 3 that we purchased at the same time. The truth is, "This product may or may not be water 'resistant' for less than one year."
This is the company's idea of a 10 year warranty = "We will send you another product." (that will most likely not work either)
The food industry has the FDA to regulate the scammers. This industry has none and the price point of these products makes it easy for the average victim to simply brush it off as bad experience. This is the type of crap product/business/service that you'd expect from a 3rd World country. Disappointing...

Don't count on the warranty Mar 24, 2011
By mother of four I purchased this Premium Waterproof Mattress protector for our new bed only to discover that after the 10th wash it does not work. I washed it according to instruction. No bleach use on it, ever. The sale representative from Protect-A-Bed was at the mattress store when I came in with our defective mattress protector. She did the "test" where she poured water over the protector, holding the corners, so the water whirled around for for five minutes. She declared it was not defective, no replacement, no refund. She even went so far as to say that I did not actually have the pad on my bed when the bed got wet (even though the pad she has in her hands definitely stank of urine).
So I suggested that we should do a test equivalent to what happened at my house, in which my little girl came into our bed in the middle of the night, urinated in her sleep. So there was factor of weight, pressure and duration of time in which the urine sat on the bed. The sales rep would not acknowledge that any of these factors would have affected her product. When I later called the warranty department, the two personal I spoke to also gave me the same line: nothing could be done further. The "test" that the Sale Rep had done was conclusive.
It's definitely frustrating when I asked if I can show them that their protector is defective by resetting up the scenario: cover on the bed again with the protector, letting a pool of water underneath about 100lbs. of weight, letting it sit for a four hours: could I get my refunds then? The answer is nothing. They don't care, because the "test" of five minutes was done and that was good enough.
So buy with caution. Don't wash it too many time. And definitely should you have to deal with the warranty department: good luck.

Nice mattress cover May 19, 2008
By Concerned Citizen "Cheryl" I don't know if this is truly waterproof, but I bought it to protect my expensive latex mattress pad from my husbands excessive sweating. So far it seems to work for that purpose. It fits nicely and is well made and the fabric isn't hot and uncomfortable.

Seems to do the job. Mar 29, 2010
By nonamejoe This showed up on time and seems to do the job. I was very, very careful drying as I had some trouble with a mattress pad before. I mostly used fluff dry setting on my dryer with no heat at all, having to turn it on low heat a couple of times for a very few minutes to warm it up and then right back to fluff/heatless setting.
Surface a bit like terry cloth, which is probably much better than just the plastic, but I do use a mattress pad on top of it and can not comment on comfort without a pad. The combo of the two at probably 100 bucks is still a better deal than letting an impossible cat destroy my California king - fit is good, btw.
Good protection, excellent price Jan 29, 2012

This mattress protector breathes very well, is of solid construction, and through Amazon is offered at an excellent price. I've seen this same product at retail stores for over double the price.
