Enjoy a great night's sleep with a Pinzon comforter just right for your needs. This Pyrenees Medium Warmth Goose Down comforter, with 40 total ounces of goose down, offers a medium level of warmth for year-round comfort. Boasting a fill power of 600, the comforter offers a premium down value. Fill power indicates how many cubic inches of space an ounce of down will occupy, and anything at the 600 level is considered in the industry to be excellent. The higher the fill power, the larger and stronger the clusters of down. Large clusters provide superior insulation, breathe better, and last much longer than smaller, fragile down clusters used in many lower quality comforters. Full/Queen Comforter Buying Guide The Pyrenees comforter is made with a 14-inch-baffle-box design from end to end. Unlike comforters with regular baffle box construction, which can experience a shifting of the down fill, Pinzon's Pyrenees comforter utilizes the patented PermaBaffle shiftless construction. It's the only patented method to construct baffle box comforters that will not permit filling to shift, even after washing. The end result is that you can enjoy a nice even warmth during every single rest throughout the life of your comforter, because the goose down stays evenly distributed all the way to each edge. The Pyrenees comforter not only boasts fabulous utility, but also good looks. The leak-proof shell is made from 100 percent cotton in a 400-thread-count Dobby weave, and it features an attractive stripe pattern. Safe to clean at home in the washer and dryer, Pinzon's Pyrenees goose down comforter may also safely be dry cleaned. Best comforter I ever bought! Jun 05, 2008
By Moanakai I have owned many many comforters over the years and this is by far the best. The previous one I was using felt too heavy and was way too hot except for the coldest of winter nights. The current one I was using was way too thin and the down clumped in the middle and left the perimeters bare (it was an expensive one bought at a high-end well-known department store too); I returned it after 6 months since it had a 4 year warranty and exchanged it for another one which supposedly was stitched thru to prevent the down from shifting. Wrong advertising, returned to department store again! After reading the reviews on this one, worth a try since my options were so limited. Extremely happy: it is plush enough to give that "comfy" feeling but not so heavy as to weight you down. The covering material has the feel of silk; the pattern is gorgeous. Most importantly, NO shifting of down whatsoever, so it is advertised correctly. And also importantly, if it has to be machine washed, it can be. The price also beats sales at high-end department stores. If I had another bed to buy for, I'd buy another one.

Fantastic Value Jan 29, 2011
By M. Rees I spent a great deal of time looking for a good quality comforter. As such, I read many reviews. While many were somewhat helpful, none of them really helped me zero in on whether or not this particular comforter would suit the needs of my wife and I. How warm is your room when you turn in for the night? Do you generally run hot or cold as a general rule? Are people reviewing this w/ other blankets involved? What exactly is WARM? So, I will address a few points that might help the rest of you out because for the life of me I couldn't find a review that laid out the important pieces.
A. Temperature - we go to sleep at 65 degrees F. Our thermostats roll back at 7pm so I am quite comfortable saying its actually 65 degrees when we go to bed.
B. Personal preferences for warmth - my wife is almost always cold. I am almost always hot. During the night, we flip flop. I cool down and become comfortable, she warms up and starts to sweat.
C. We only sleep w/ this comforter and a sheet. Haven't bought a douvet (sp?) yet.

This comforter is fantastic. We are kept comfortably warm all night, neither too hot nor too cold. Our temperatures remained stable through the evening into morning. Its a pleasure to go to sleep underneath one of these.
As mentioned in other reviews, its filled very evenly, lofts nicely when out of the box, and the comforter material is very soft.
Very happy we purchased this item - would not hesitate to recommend to a friend or family member.

Pinzon Pyrenees Down Comforter (mediium wight) Jan 18, 2008
By H. Asrelsky
"book widow"
Even though listed as medium weight, the comforter is light. It has provided excellent warmth during some of the coldest nighrs this winter.
We had been using two and even three blankets before receiving this one. We have retired the others--the Pinzon alone provides all the warmth we need. This is a first-rate product and I highly recommend it.

VERY nice Mar 19, 2008
By BoogieCat After checking and comparing down comforters from many other websites and our local Costco for value, the amount of fill & quality cover material. These (bought 2) were the best choice for me. They are quality made, truly "down" and after removing from the shipping box they fluffed up beautifully! Even though they are "medium" warmth, they are very warm and cozy but not hot. I use flannel duvet covers so this may add to the warmth.

NOT Leak-proof = Feathers EVERYWHERE Nov 24, 2008
By Swoop Buyer Beware! The item was indeed excellent quality, at least for about the first 30 days. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, I started finding more Down feathers on my floor than in my comforter. I have always used a duvet cover (300 thread count), but feathers constantly leaked. There are no obvious holes or weak seams. The feathers simply come directly through the fabric. I just purchased an $80 "comforter protector" that will hopefully resolve the problem, but if I knew this was going to be an issue, I would have spent $80 more on a better quality comforter in the first place.
