I wanted to love them - but disappointing! Mar 21, 2008

I travel a lot for work and stay in some wonderful hotels around the world... and am always amazed at the quality of their sheets. I ordered these hoping they might approximate what I've seen in those hotels. Nope. First off, the embroidery is not on the fitted sheet, only on the flat sheet and pillowcases, and it shrunk at a different rate than the sheets, so it's a bit puckered after first wash. I could live with that if the material was truly soft and luxurious... but I found it to be rather rough, a fairly ordinary sheet. The sheets I've bought at TJ MAXX and Marshalls advertised at the same threadcount around the same price are much more luxurious. If these soften with more washes, I will update this review.
Otherwise, you might want to keep looking! Hope this helps.

Two thumbs up! Jul 08, 2008

The sheet set was part of the Hotel Collection that I got.
I consider myself to be a savy shopper so I'm pretty adamant about making sure that I get what I consider good quality for a great price. When I got the sheets, I was impressed with the beefiness of the fabric, the smooth hand feel as well as the quality of the embroidery. The embroidery on the top is very well done - elevated, smooth with no snags, and the bottom side is cleanly finished. None of that unsighly loose threads, or the interface/stabilizer showing through. You can tell a lot about the quality of a garment/home textile, after it's been washed. The set held up very well. The edges didn't have that unsightly twist; the embroidery areas were still clean, no excessive puckering and very little shrinkage. Great value for this item.
One caution - it's due to my own carelessness as I didn't follow the directions. The care instructions say "Use Non-Chlorine Bleach When Needed". Take this advice. I used Chlorine bleach and my embroidery got a bit lighter. Also, chlorine bleach has a way of weakening the fiber over time so it's pretty good advice.
Otherwise, I love the hotel sheets/set.

honest review Dec 10, 2010
By musiclistener1114 ...i paid $60 for these sheets.....average sheets...not great, nothing spectacular, just some plain vanilla sheets. Worth 60 bucks? hmmm...i'd say not really, but I have the matching duvet cover so I kind of had to get the sheets. The set is pretty to look at, but comfort is just okay.

Rough, rough, rough Jul 26, 2011
By argo23 I'm not one to write reviews. In fact, this may be the only one I have ever written. THAT'S how disappointed I am with this product. As soon as I took them out of the bag I thought "These aren't soft at all. Almost scratchy." I followed another reviewer's advice and washed them on delicate with cold water and Woolite and dryed on delicate and immediately removed. Just as scratchy and unsoft as before. And they wrinkle like crazy. It's like sleeping on a giant sheet of paper and it's all wrinkled when you get up.
I had much better luck going to the local cheap store and buying sheets. Never again.
