Very nice quality bed skirt Jan 11, 2010

I ordered this bed skirt after one I had purchased from a local discount store fell apart in the wash. The cheap bed skirt had a nice skirt, but it was sewn to a flat sheet of fabric that was not much better than tissue paper. I was looking for something that was more durable.
This bed skirt fit the bill. It has a beautiful pattern and so far seems very durable. Both the skirt and the attached sheet are of excellent quality fabric. It is well made. I have one minor complaint - we have an extra thick mattress and box spring (by the standards of when we bought them 10 years ago). Despite that, the skirt is a bit long and drags on the floor. One inch shorter all around would have been perfect.
Another thing to look out for: the pattern in the picture is hard to see, and I hadn't actually realized there was a pattern - I thought it was a solid color. In fact, it is a small, subtle gold pattern on a taupe background. Now that I know it is there I can see it in the pictures, but it wasn't obvious the first time I looked at the pictures. That said, I like the pattern very much and consider it an extra bonus. It matches very well with my handmade Japanese quilt, which uses a lot of gold thread. It is not blatantly Asian, but it enhances an Asian "flavor," and could match with other contemporary styles as well. But the gold pattern might not match with everything. While it is not dominating, it is shinier than it appears in the pictures.
Overall, I recommend this product for its excellent quality and beautiful fabric.
