PUMP NEEDS A PUMP Feb 22, 2011

American Standard huh? If this dispenser is an example of what America's products have become, then we REALLY are in trouble. I purchased one of these dispensers thinking that the materials it was made of, and the cost of it meant quality................ WRONG!!!!! The pump dispenser on it never did pump right. Had to pump on it at least 15 times just to get a small dab in your hand from it. After only 3 months, it quit pumping altogether. Contacted American Standard and had to buy a new replacement pump from them for it. Guess what? Same thing happened with that one as the one that came with it. I did however manage to buy another dispenser(another brand) that had their own metal pump that fit on the American Standard dispenser on my wall. Wasn't chrome like the American Standard, more like brushed aluminum, but at least it WORKS WELL. Liked the American Standard mount, and the glass container parts of it though, but shouldn't a dispenser dispense?????

This is not a cheap and flimsy feeling unit at all. It is solidly built, looks very good, and works smoothly. It was easy to mount on my wall and feels solid once mounted. The glass (not plastic) jar is free to be turned when mounted. The styling is a good match in style to the curves of my Kohler Forte fixtures. Plan to mount it where any drips will fall into your sink.

First dispenser arrived with broken glass due to inadequate packing. Amazon immediately shipped replacement, and did not require return of broken item--a good thing, because second dispenser's pump did not work, so I used pump from first. This pump does not work smoothly. Flushing with water periodically seems to help.
